YouthFad.com is an ecommerce website for youths, which have cool collection of fashion clothing and gift items.

The word ‘literacy’ means the ability to read and write. In a civilized world, it is mandatory for every citizen to know how to read and write. If not, the person faces many problems and difficulties in life. If a person is unable to read or write, they cannot read a letter addressed to them by other people. They cannot compose or decipher notes, texts, mail, or any other form of written communication. They cannot calculate their own income and expenses, nor can they keep a track of their accounts. Morally and psychologically, they feel insecure and weak, and are not able to cope up with the needs of the modern world.

Literacy is the first step towards learning. Along with the ability to read and write, it also includes the ability, confidence and readiness to indulge with language in order to obtain, build and communicate meaning in various aspects of daily life. Human communication without literacy is limited to speech, causing ideas to be muddled and important details to be forgotten due to the imperfection of the human memory. Literacy is important because communication skills are otherwise limited to speech, technology becomes unusable, and it is almost impossible to acquire a job. Literacy is the cornerstone of education as a whole, and it is highly unlikely one could find much success without being taught the art of reading and writing.

Literacy has the power to bring about life changing events in a person’s life. Therefore, the Government of India has introduced the Right to Education Act in the year 2009. The Right to Education Act states Education to be the fundamental right of every child between the age group 6-14. Other Government initiatives promoting literacy in India are the Beti Bachao Beti Parao Abhiyaan, Saakshar Bharat, Sarvya Shiksha Abhiyan and the Rashtriya Madhyamik Siksha Abhiyaan.
